The NVA is a unique online learning community that provides education to marginalised, vulnerable and hard-to-reach young people throughout the UK and abroad.
The Awards are presented in recognition of outstanding applications of technology that address the most significant challenges facing the global education and training sectors.
Finalists are chosen based on their ability to meet a range of criteria, including access, affordability, quality and innovation.
Previous award winners include OpenLearn at the Open University, Italian company Giunti Labs and Cyber Home Learning System of Korea.
IMS is a collaborative venture between leading global organisations with the common objective of improving the learning experience through innovation and the strategic use of technology.
The latest version of the NVA represents the culmination of several years of research and development and combines contemporary, forward thinking pedagogies with a range of integrated, cutting edge technologies exclusively developed by Nisai.
“We are honoured and delighted to earn recognition from the IMS Global Learning Consortium” said Dhruv Patel, CEO of the Nisai Group. “To be selected as a finalist for these awards verifies our capacity to deliver unique, innovative and world leading solutions that enable young people to achieve successful learning outcomes”.
Programmes include a timetable of live lessons that are delivered using Nisai’s online classroom technology, Nisai Live, that enables students who are unable to attend mainstream school or college, or who require additional support with their education, to participate in real-time learning sessions with their peers that are hosted and directed by the NVA’s specialist teachers.
The NVA also acts as a platform that brings together each young person’s individual support team. Parents and carers, teachers, local authority personnel, medical professionals and other stakeholders are able to communicate and collaborate effectively and efficiently regarding the wellbeing and development of the student through a single, secure portal.
The flexibility of the service, together with the outstanding results achieved by NVA students, has attracted learners from countries such as Spain, Italy and Switzerland who participate in real time lessons with their UK based peers and communicate safely using the NVA’s secure social network features.
