Post 16 Funding Information

The NVA offers a wide range of courses and qualifications including Key Skills, GCSEs and A Levels and provides a fantastic way for young people who have had their education interrupted or have been unable to attend school or college for medical and/or other reasons to access education and achieve qualifications.

Who Qualifies for Funding?

The NVA offers funded places to post 16  LDD students or students who are unable to attend school or college for medical reasons.

 

This includes any mental, physical, emotional or medical condition that prevents a student from accessing mainstream education. Funding is available for students whatever level of qualification they wish to study and the NVA is now able to enrol students wishing to begin courses in the 2009/10 academic year.

 

Student are able to choose from a range of courses and qualifications including Basic and Key Skills, BTECs, GCSEs and A Levels.

 

To qualify for funding, students must:

  • Be aged 16 or over
  • Have been out of mainstream education for 5 weeks or more
  • Be able to provide evidence of their medical condition, such as a written statement from a doctor or counsellor
  • Be over the age of compulsory education (Year 12 and above)

 

How to Apply for Funding

The process of applying for a funded place at the Nisai Virtual Academy is simple and straightforward. All that is required are:

  • A student registration form. If you don't already have a form, please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with a copy.
  • Supporting evidence, such as a letter from the student's doctor or other medical professional explaining that the young person is unable to attend school or college due to their medical condition.

 

Applicants simply need to complete their student registration form and return together with supporting evidence of their medical condition to Nisai at the following address:

Electronic registrations can be sent with a scanned copy of the supporting evidence directly to our Enrolment Officer at: victoria.metcalfe@nisai.com
