The Nisai Virtual Academy is delighted to be nominated as a finalist for the BETT Awards 2011.
The awards are widely regarded as amongst the most respected in the industry and showcase the leading digital and technology products and services in education. The judging panel includes teachers and other educational professionals that assess entrants on a range of criteria such as how innovative the service is, the extent to which it engages learners to enable effective learning and whether it offers good value for money.
Being shortlisted for this award continues a year of recognition for the NVA and its students; in May the organisation won a prestigious IMS Global Learning Impact Award in California, and an event at the House of Lords in late spring saw NVA students recognised for the significant achievements they had made despite facing significant barriers to their learning.
“We are delighted to be recognised as a finalist in the 2011 BETT Awards” said Dhruv Patel, Chief Executive of the Nisai Group. “As the number of students we support continues to grow each year, we constantly strive to develop innovative ways of improving their learning experience and helping them to achieve successful outcomes. To be shortlisted for this award evidences the significant and positive impact that being part of the NVA community is having on the lives of many young people who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to access the education and support to which they are entitled”.
The NVA was identified as a finalist because of the provision it offers for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), which is personalised to account for the individual requirements of each learner.
The NVA enables young people to participate in tailored learning programmes that include live collaborative lessons with NVA teachers and other students from all over the UK. It offers a wide range of qualifications from Key Stage 2 – Key Stage 5 as well as vocational and personal wellbeing courses.
The overall winners of the BETT awards will be announced at an awards evening in January prior to the 2011 BETT Show at Olympia, London.
