Matthew was a 15 year old student from the West Midlands whose mental health difficulties had prevented him from attending mainstream school since Year 7. He did have a one-to-one tutor but Matthew refused to leave his bedroom, so they communicated by passing notes under the door and knocking in response to yes or no questions.
The school Matthew was on-roll with decided to use Nisai for the last weeks of the Summer Term and the first half of the September term, in the hopes he would achieve more outcomes. After the September half-term Matthew asked to be re-integrated with his school and successfully transitioned onto a full-time timetable. The school was really impressed with his engagement and results and credit Nisai for giving him the confidence boost that allowed him back into a mainstream facility. He went on to achieve all A’s in his GCSEs and carried on to the Sixth Form.
