The Role

Due to the growth and unprecedented levels of interest, Nisai are now looking to recruit a Web Developer within the Stockton Development Team.

You will be part of an expanding organisation that provides learners worldwide with education that they would not normally be able to access. With an ethos of developing our offer in house, your skills will be essential to the success of the business.

Hours of work will be 8am to 4.30pm, Monday-Friday.

Job Summary

You will be responsible for supporting and assistant the development of our student management systems and student portal. Joining an established team will provide you with opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues and enhance your skill set.

In an ever changing marketplace, as the Education Sector is, there are always new requirements for data, reporting and system management. Whilst in some cases the development work is reactive to the needs of our customers, the vast majority of the development team role is to plan, contribute and be proactive in the use of IT to deliver, track and manage the platforms we use for client engagement and student progression. The opportunity to be involved in new projects is realistic with the introduction of and roll out of new services to new markets. We are looking for someone who is a problem solver. Analytical, organised, and communicative you will be able to evidence your skills in these areas as part of your application.

The Web Developer role will include the development of both third party software and in house applications.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Product development, working within a team to produce future releases and features using the .NET framework
  • Develop quality, reliable software to defined standards utilising established technologies including ASP.Net, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Mentor Junior Developers through to Web Developer standard

In particular:

  • C# development
  • 3+ years’ industry experience
  • Evidence of knowledge in Database concepts and design
  • Create well designed, reusable software
  • Ability to implement best practice of coding / testing standards
  • Evidence of the ability to deploy software solutions
  • Demonstrable problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate information effectively

Essential technical skills:

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • C# and ASP.Net
  • SQL and database design
  • MVC
  • Team Foundation Server
  • Design patterns knowledge
  • Entity framework
  • Deployment of web applications to a live environment

Desirable technical skills:

  • Bootstrap
  • Experience of .NET Core
  • JQuery
  • AJAX
  • Web Services
  • Test driven development
  • Writing and working with web APIs
  • Autofac/knowledge of Dependency Injection

Background

Education/training

You will have a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in IT discipline with a minimum of 2:1 and at least 3+ years’ industry experience.
