Individualised plans
Every student is unique, and so is our approach. Our curriculum is designed to adjust to each learner’s requirements, enabling them to progress at their own speed and revisit topics whenever needed.

Smaller class sizes
Our smaller class sizes ensure that all students receive focused attention, promoting better engagement and understanding.

Ability-based learning
Learners are placed in classes that are tailored to their individual needs and learning styles, allowing each and every one of our students to reach their potential through appropriate levels of challenge and support.

Specialist teachers
Our expert teaching staff are trained in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, providing the personalised instruction and support that students require.

Comprehensive support network
Each student has access to a dedicated team of professionals who understand their unique challenges and can offer ongoing support.

Data-driven progress tracking
By closely tracking attendance, communication, and engagement, we ensure that students reach their unique learning milestones with precision and support.

Parental and customer reporting
Regular, transparent reporting ensures parents and schools stay informed about the student’s progress and wellbeing.

Whether students are aiming for college, university, apprenticeships, or employment, this flexible curriculum assists them in reaching their goals. With a wide range of subjects available, the programme encourages students not only to learn but also to discover, explore, and prepare for the next exciting chapter of their lives.

Unlike traditional schools, we group students by ability rather than by age. This flexible approach allows each learner to study at the level most suited to their current knowledge, confidence, and learning pace. Online students can accelerate where they are strong and receive additional support in areas where they need to build foundational skills.

This model is particularly beneficial for:

  • High-achieving students, who are able to access more advanced material earlier
  • Students who have gaps in learning, offering the chance to revisit key concepts without pressure
  • Students with SEND or learning barriers, who may need additional time, flexibility, or tailored teaching approaches

Upper Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4: Breaking down each subject into bite-sized lessons that make studying easier and more effective.

Key Stage 5: Transforming complex topics into manageable, engaging lessons that simplify studying and maximise understanding.

At the heart of our approach to teaching and learning is a simple idea: every student deserves to be challenged and supported, without feeling overwhelmed. That’s why we’ve developed our Advanced Learning Model, which helps all learners make progress at their own pace, with opportunities to go further if and when they’re ready.

We ensure that all essential subject content is fully covered within lessons, so students never need to worry about missing out if they decide not to take on any extra activities. Our lessons are thoughtfully planned to include built-in stretch and challenge, encouraging all learners to think deeply, build confidence, and engage in a way that suits them best; whether that’s through polls, the public chat, private messages, or speaking via their microphone.

To complement this, we offer a range of optional post-lesson challenges using a flipped learning approach. These are short, accessible tasks that allow students to:

  • Explore new ideas before their lesson
  • Revisit or consolidate learning
  • Deepen their understanding
  • Apply their knowledge in creative ways

The key word is optional! These challenges are there for students who feel curious, want to stretch themselves, or simply enjoy going the extra mile;  but there’s no pressure.

Importantly, these tasks are not repeated in class, which keeps lesson time fresh, engaging and free from unnecessary repetition. This also ensures that all students can focus fully in lessons, while those seeking extra challenge have the freedom to do so outside of class time.

Our Advanced Learning Model strikes a balanced approach between structure and flexibility. It supports academic growth, builds learner independence, and encourages a positive, healthy attitude to learning; one where students feel motivated, not pressured.

We are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), social and emotional challenges, or other barriers to learning.

Our online model and personalised approach allow us to:

  • Utilise adaptive teaching
  • Provide smaller class sizes for more focused attention
  • Remove environmental stressors such as noise, overcrowding, or social distractions found in traditional classrooms
  • Use technology tools such as captioning, visual aids, and accessibility settings to support diverse needs
  • Enable students to learn from the comfort and safety of home, helping those with chronic illness, anxiety, or sensory sensitivities

At Nisai, students are seen as valued individuals with unique talents and goals. The programme begins by understanding their strengths through a baseline assessment, followed by creating a tailored timetable that works for each student.

Two live online induction sessions are provided to show students how to access live lessons, join online clubs in the social space, and submit assignments, ensuring they feel confident from the start. Also, it is easy to find out who out of the staff you need to contact and how to do it.

Our curriculum prepares students for both GCSEs and International GCSEs (iGCSEs), which are widely accepted by schools, colleges, and universities across the globe. These qualifications also provide a clear route to further study, including A-levels, vocational pathways, or international programmes such as the IB.

This makes Nisai ideal for families based abroad, relocating, or looking for a globally recognised British education.

Across all subjects and levels, our alternate provision curriculum is designed to build the key skills that students need for further study and lifelong success. These include:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving, developed through Maths, Science, Sociology, and Psychology
  • Reading, writing, and communication, strengthened in English and Humanities subjects
  • Digital literacy and independent learning, embedded in our online learning environment
  • Research and analytical thinking, particularly in Science, History, Sociology, and Psychology

These skills are reinforced at every stage, preparing students not only for qualifications, but also for higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.

At Nisai, we believe that education should not only build knowledge but also help students understand how their learning applies to the world around them. To support this, we actively make use of cross-curricular links and integrate themes from UNESCOs Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to provide meaningful context to students’ learning.

Cross-Curricular Learning

By making connections between subjects, we help students see the bigger picture. For example:

  • A topic in Science on climate change may link to Geography through the study of global weather patterns, and to English through persuasive writing on environmental issues.
  • Sociology and Psychology are naturally interconnected and can be further linked to History when exploring how societies have developed and how human behaviour is shaped by events.
  • ICT is used across all subjects to support digital literacy and to encourage research, communication, and presentation skills.

This approach encourages students to think critically, make connections, and apply their knowledge in new and creative ways. It also supports deeper understanding and retention, as students see how different disciplines relate to each other and to real-world challenges.

Embedding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We also embed the UN Sustainable Development Goals across the curriculum where relevant. These 17 global goals, which include areas such as climate action, quality education, gender equality, and reduced inequalities, provide a powerful framework for discussing global issues and promoting responsible citizenship.

Through topics and projects aligned with the SDGs, students explore:

  • Environmental sustainability and the science behind it
  • Social justice, inequality, and human rights
  • Health, wellbeing, and mental health awareness
  • The role of technology and innovation in building a better future

This global perspective encourages students to develop empathy, understand different cultures and challenges, and see themselves as active participants in shaping a better world.

By combining cross-curricular learning with a global outlook through the SDGs, we ensure that our curriculum is not only academically strong, but also relevant, engaging, and future-focused.

A Nisai Online Learning Zone is a dedicated area within your school where students access live online lessons, mentoring, and support from trained staff. The Zone acts as a bridge between classroom learning and personalised provision, offering a supportive learning environment for students who need a different approach to remain engaged.

This model benefits students who struggle with noise, pace, behaviour expectations, or transitions in a traditional teaching approach. It also supports reintegration, attendance improvement, and prevention of exclusion.

A Learning Zone enables students to remain in school while receiving the support they need. Schools gain a flexible, cost-effective solution that improves attendance, reduces exclusions, and creates space for pupils to succeed without disruption.

Nisai Learning Zones offer schools a practical solution to support students needing additional help. By maintaining educational continuity, improving attendance, and facilitating reintegration, these zones create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.

Key Benefits

1. Prevention of Fixed-Term Exclusions & Support for School Refusers

  • Alternative Learning Environment: A calm, structured space within your school where students can continue their education without disruption or the need for exclusion.
  • Personalised Support: Nisai Online Lessons delivered by qualified subject specialists, supported by our Learning Support Assistants or by your own staff, trained and supported by us.

2. Maintaining School Attendance

  • In-School Engagement: Keeps students on-site, connected to their school community, and engaged in learning.
  • Structured Nurture: Focused support in a safe and supportive setting, preventing further disengagement.

3. A Bridge Back Into the Classroom

  • Reintegration Pathway: Supports students in gradually returning to mainstream lessons at a pace that suits them.
  • Holistic Support: Builds confidence, social skills, and learning readiness with input from experienced teachers and support staff.

4. Cost Savings on Supply Teachers

  • Qualified Teaching Team: Reduce reliance on expensive supply staff with our subject specialists.
  • Efficient Use of Resources: Free up your school’s time and budget while maintaining high-quality education delivery.

5. Utilise Existing Space Within Your School

  • No Set Up Needed: Nisai Learning Zones can use available space within your school, keeping implementation simple, fast, and affordable.
  • On-Site Flexibility: Students remain part of the school community while accessing tailored support just a few steps away.

A Nisai Online Learning Zone supports students who find traditional learning difficult and need a quieter, more structured environment to stay engaged. The Zone gives these learners a safe space to access lessons and support that matches their individual needs.

Students who benefit include:

  • those experiencing anxiety or challenges with classroom pressure
  • students with sensory sensitivities or difficulty managing noise
  • pupils with SEND who need personalised pacing
  • students struggling with behaviour expectations or transitions
  • learners returning after long periods of absence
  • students at risk of exclusion or school refusal

The Zone ensures each child remains part of the school community while accessing learning that fits their needs and encourages steady progress.

Setting up a Nisai Learning Zone online is simple, practical, and designed to work with your existing school structure. Schools do not need new buildings or specialist equipment, only a quiet space and basic technology.

How it works:

  1. Identify a suitable space: A spare classroom, nurture room, or intervention area can be used as the Zone. The goal is to create a calm, predictable setting for learning.
  2. Connect the Zone to Nisai’s online learning: Students access live online lessons through secure devices, supported by your trained staff or our team.
  3. Set personalised timetables: Each student receives a structured daily plan that blends online lessons, support time, and reintegration activity where needed.
  4. Monitor attendance and engagement: Our systems track progress, behaviour, and attendance so you have clear evidence for internal review, Ofsted, and local authorities.
  5. Review regularly: We work with you to refine the model based on student needs, school priorities, and outcomes.

This clear setup process reduces disruption and helps you create a sustainable intervention that works from day one.

In a traditional teaching approach, lessons follow a set pace and rely heavily on whole-class instruction. This works for many pupils, but others struggle with the pace, the environment, or the level of independence required.

A Learning Zone offers:

  • Smaller, calmer learning spaces
  • Online learning tools that support individual needs
  • Interactive activities that strengthen understanding
  • A flexible approach that adapts to the learner

The combination of structure and flexibility helps students feel secure while accessing learning that fits their individual needs.

A Learning Zone removes barriers that often prevent students from benefiting from traditional teaching. With focused lessons, multimedia content, and structured support, students benefit from:

  • A calmer learning environment
  • More personalised guidance
  • Reduced sensory overload
  • Targeted instruction tailored to need
  • Opportunities to practise new skills at their own pace

This leads to improved student engagement, fewer behavioural challenges, and greater progress.

The Zone allows students to take part in project-based learning tasks that develop independence, creativity, and deeper understanding. Projects often link to real-world examples and give learners a chance to actively engage in their education rather than passively receiving information.

This improves:

  • Motivation
  • Engagement
  • Ownership of learning
  • Long-term knowledge retention

Project work also aligns with different learning styles, providing an inclusive approach that benefits a wide range of students.

A Flexible, Supported Pathway To Success

With clear progression from Key Stage 2 to GCSE/international GCSE and A-levels, our curriculum allows each student to follow a pathway that suits their individual pace, strengths, and goals. Regular assessment, personalised feedback, and dedicated support ensure that all students are well guided throughout their learning journey.

Whether your child is academically advanced, managing additional needs, or simply requires a more flexible and focused learning environment, Nisai offers a modern, inclusive, and effective alternative to traditional education, wherever in the world you may be.
