International SDGs Competition 2024: “Bridging Green Education: Uniting Sustainable Communities”

Nisai Group and UNESCO IITE are co-organizing the exclusive SDGs competition “Bridging Green Education: Uniting Sustainable Communities” to support students’ green education initiatives aimed at achieving the SDGs.

The SDGs competition aims to: 

  • Recruit students with outstanding academic achievements and leadership talent for the SDGs course (Sustainable Development Goals) at Nisai Global School
  • Spread the message of equity and kindness to every global student;
  • Advocate for the role of education to accomplish SDGs via students’ meaningful sustainable projects;
  • Promote AI and ICT-driven solutions to foster the creation of green and resilient communities.

Prize

Five 100% scholarships for the SDGs course with Nisai Global School & a Certificate of Participation.

The SDGs competition is conducted online and consists of three rounds:

Round 1: Preliminary Round: April 16th – May 16th

Each participant fills out a registration form for the competition. Each participant is allowed to register only one application, ensuring complete and accurate information, including:

  • Latest academic transcript;
  • International English proficiency certificates: IELTS, Cambridge, TOEFL, etc. (if available) or EF test result (free): https://bit.ly/3mu48gd
  • Certificates or awards for academic and extracurricular achievements (if available);
  • Outline of the video on the topic of “Greening Our Neighborhoods: How education can support the creation of inclusive urban sustainability”. The outline should be no longer than 500 words.

The information provided during registration will be the basis for the Organizing Committee to evaluate and award prizes. The Organizing Committee will not recognize the results for participants with any discrepancies in the registered information.

Guideline for round 1 of the SDGs competition 2024

Round 2: Competency Assessment Round: May 18th – May 21st

Participants take a comprehensive assessment test as instructed by the Organizing Committee. The test includes 01 BKSB test – Comprehensive assessment of English and Math ability test.

Judges will evaluate the assessment test and announce the results to participants via email on May 23rd.

Guideline for round 2 of the SDGs competition 2024

Round 3: Video Round: May 25th – June 13th

Participants create presentation videos on the topic outlined. The content of the video should focus on sharing and demonstrating how education can empower local residents to take action and create positive environmental and social change in their immediate surroundings.

Each participant submits one video for evaluation by the judges. The participants with the best video will be selected to join an interview with the judges to further elaborate their ideas.

The submitted videos must meet the following requirements:

  • Language: English
  • Video length: maximum 3 minutes
  • Format: Videos must be submitted in .mp4 format. The videos should be recorded horizontally.
  • Video quality: Clear sound, no blurry images, clear view of the participant’s face.
  • Students may use additional illustrative images for better video content.
  • Please refer to sample videos from previous competition participants.
